Finding the Auto Insurance Coverage That's Right for You
|
Automobile insurance can be a confusing subject. Which coverage options
do you need? Are you paying too much for your insurance? Are you well
protected against liability lawsuits?
These are just a few of the questions you need to ask when deciding
on your automobile insurance protection. Here is a brief explanation of
the available automobile insurance coverage and the protection they
provide.
The Benefits of Liability Insurance
Liability coverage is designed to protect you against legal liability if
you cause an auto accident that results in bodily injury or damage to
someone else's property. Cotton States will also defend any claim
covered under this policy until the limit of liability has been
exhausted.
Coverage for Damage to Your Auto
With Collision or Other-Than-Collision coverage, Cotton States will pay
for damage to your automobile, depending on which coverage you choose:
- Collision coverage pays if your auto hits another vehicle
or object.
- Other-Than-Collision pays for losses which are not
insured under Collision coverage, which include glass breakage,
fire, theft or larceny, vandalism, windstorm, hail, water or flood
and collision with an animal.
Protecting Against Uninsured Motorists
If you're involved in an auto accident caused by a hit-and-run driver or
by someone who has no insurance, Cotton States’ uninsured motorist
coverage will pay for damages that you are legally entitled to collect.
This coverage also provides underinsured motorists coverage in
accordance with the laws of your state.
Covering Medical Expenses
Medical payment coverage protects you, your family and your passengers
when involved in an automobile accident. This coverage will pay for
reasonable medical and funeral expenses incurred because of an auto
accident, regardless of fault. (The actual policy explains time
limitations on this coverage.)
Optional Coverage
Increased Liability Limits. The limit of liability
you choose for bodily injury and property damage determines the amount
of insurance protection you have. Cotton States offers several limits of
liability.
Rental Reimbursement Coverage. This coverage is designed to pay
for rental expenses you incur because of damage caused by a covered loss
to your insured auto.
Towing and Labor Coverage. If your auto is disabled, this
coverage will pay for incurred towing costs. |
